I worked at Unilever full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great team and general work environment

    Cons

Very focused on savings, cash and speed. Also very socially active and visible. UL is all for diversity but leaves many employees outside of its designated diversity circles. Culture is very much focused on millenials and their priorities...

    Advice to Management

Employees are loyal to UL but UL does not reciprocate.....always looking for the next best thing... you need to have dedication to you established employees as these have provided the momentum.

I have been working at Unilever full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible Working Environment (if you need to work from home in the middle of the week to go to the doctor for example, it's fine). As long as you get your work done, people don't tend to care when you leave the office etc. Easy access from NYC with use of company shuttle (you pay for it but it's minimal) Company truly believes and lives it's motto around purpose and sustainability Ability to work across... multiple categories Top notch research and data capabilities. Although there are a lot of processes, there is a rarely a function or job that doesn't have built in tools to help you succeed

    Cons

Pay growth year of year is minimal. Only way to get a good salary increase is to get promoted and this can be hard moving up levels depending on what stage of the year the company is in.

    Advice to Management

Although you need to focus on hitting your Wall Street numbers (especially post Kraft-Heinz), refocus back on the long term with people management. Especially when you look to delay promotions around times of profit crunches.
