I have been working at Union Bank of India full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

UBI as a whole is a better place to work Compared to any other PSU it is very considerate towards female employees for posting.

    Cons

Huge age gap between juniors and seniors...it is sometimes difficult to work with them.Hardly your suggestions are welcome by your seniors.

Late sitting make your boss happy even if you are not doing anything..Nobody look on to your efficiency..

Even if you want to change something ..nothing is welcome even though it is told that new ideas are welcome. Many believe in old is gold

New generation with always a thirst for doing something will find it very difficult to adapt with the work atmosphere..

People who are honest with work will have work 24×7 .

Monotonous work. You will lose interest for work very soon..

Very few branches concentrated in metros

I have been working at Union Bank of India full-time

    Pros

Pros exist only for probationary officer. If you join Union Bank of India as Marketing officer your life is finished. Its better to join as clerk so that you would atleast get a seat in the branch.

    Cons

Before joining we need to sign a bond for 2.5 Lakhs that too with a govt. Bank. The bond is for 3 years.promotion policy of Marketing officer is very pathetic and the CMD is not intersted in giving promotion.According to him MOs are having a low entry barrier. So guys decide yourself ..it is better to be unemployed than working under a management which does not know the basic concept of marketing.People who are less qualified will get the promotion and we with so much degree and potential need to do salesman job.. A person who has joined Union bank as officer left the job and now started working as clerk.

    Advice to Management

If you are not intersted in MOs please don't recruitment them through IBPS.Don't spoil of our life..I never choose Union Bank...my first priority was Canara,Pnb and other good banks. If you have not notified the vacancy in IBPS we would have got into other good bank. Take the case of IBPs 2016, Lakhs of students wrote Marketing Officer test and only 750 candidates were selected and then also management feel that test is easy and the MOs are having indirect entry into Bank.Seriously there is some sort of Problem with thinking...pls do have some common sense...
