I have been working at Union Pacific full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Benefits are good. Retirement is good if you can make it that long

    Cons

Pay is okay, but needs improvement based on the hours on call, hours worked, and cost of living. Way too many fatigued people working because they’re forced to. No quality of life.

    I worked at Union Pacific

    Pros

Pay is good compared to Contractor pay

    Cons

I was furloughed immediately out of training after making it through the 60 probationary period and getting my CDL permit only to be furloughed a mere 14 days out of training .That was 9 months ago and the so called Union hasn’t lifted a finger to help ,been to busy cutting jobs to inflate their stocks. As far as bidding goes good luck when you have 0 seniority. Suicides are a common occurrence No guarantee hard work will save you After being furloughed the Union and Allied federation treat you like you don’t exist
