I have been working at Unisys full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You get a paycheck. Can't think of anything else right now.

    Cons

Constant state of instability. Constant restructuring.

Leadership puts the fear into you. If you don't comply blindly, you're out. You can't trust leadership like that.

Politics EVERYWHERE to the point where it hinders the ability to get your work done.

You've got leadership from the "Mainframe days" trying to compete in a more technologically innovative arena, and they're fumbling the ball.

Sales is completely in over their heads. They'll cut sales people left and right, but there is no support despite a full org chart of people on the operations side. Start on the other side of the fence and get rid of some of the dead weight in ops instead of cutting the people who bring in the business.

    Advice to Management

Instill a feeling of trust with your employees. Try to relate to the pains they're going through as they watch their coworkers of 20 years get let go. Get the org under control.

    Cons

    • Not a lot of vacation days
    • Poor software development practices (improper use of Git)

    Advice to Management

    • When employees ask about knowing their worth, get on top of that discussion about salary increase

I have been working at Unisys full-time

    Pros

Flexibility, working from home, nice people, good relationships within the team

    Cons

Too much change all the time that makes no sense at all, changing thing back and forth, never ending restructuring, no stability, no certainty, management not treating people as people

    Advice to Management

Management needs to make decision and stick to it , not to keep changing back and forth just for the sake of reporting activity. They need to add more stability to motivate people otherwise everybody just waits for their severance pay without adding any value as any effort would not be appreciated anyway.
