I have been working at United Biscuits full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work if you like biscuits.....
    Salary isn't too bad but....

    Cons

One of the most unprofessional, disorganised, poorly structured, uncaring companies I have worked for.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees, Drop the "Boys Club" mentality within the senior team.

I have been working at United Biscuits full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great rate of pay, good company benefits such as sick pay, occupational health, good holiday allowance, good shift pattern. They operate a banked hours system so you get given 23 days holiday and an extra 8 days off when the company shuts down for maintenance etc. More recently they've introduced a service that allows you to receive counselling and doctor advice via online/telephone which is a great initiative.

    Cons

Although they offer sick pay, more recently they've begun to make you feel criminal for taking any time off. I realise they have their reasons behind this, but they could go about it another way.
When it comes to promotions, favouritism is definitely an issue which can make hard working employees feel a little demotivated.

    Advice to Management

You need to take action with management in charge of employing. It's well known amongst your employees that favouritism goes on, which can be highly demotivating.

I worked at United Biscuits (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You get cut price biscuits

    Cons

Unless you watch the latest TV programmes don't bother applying for a job with them, nobody will talk to you and the Manager doesn't manage

I worked at United Biscuits (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent personal development, training and team building events enable employees to develop their strengths and weaknesses and apply then during their normal day to day workload.

    Cons

No cons other than a level of self control when surrounded with half covered digestives, hob nobs and gold bars.

    Advice to Management

In the current ideflationary environment prices and offers must remain very keen in the market to ensure that United Biscuit products continue to fly off the shelves at a PACE.

I worked at United Biscuits part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible, hard-working culture. Fantastic people. Great career progression for the ambitious.

    Cons

Has become more process-oriented, less creative and stifling in recent years (Sales and Marketing) which is a shame. But it now has new owners, Yildiz so things may loosen up and flexible creative innovation may once again become appreciated.

    Advice to Management

Bring back the fun, creative, innovative yet fast-paced culture that characterised the best of the old days.
