    Pros

Free food. They'll give you a heads up threat to find another job if you don't fit into the bubble.

    Cons

Unprofessionalism, poor management, horrible HR, lots of favoritism, drug usage, and extreme bullying (from managers) in the worst way. No diversity in management,.......Racism still exists. Managers bash employees behind the scenes.

    Advice to Management

The entire Dallas office as well as HR department needs to be revamped. Company should consider exit interviews.

    Pros

The salary and corporate perks are the only pros.

    Cons

There is poor leadership. Both management and HR are corrupt. There are many ethical violations that occur daily due to favoritism and bullying.

    Advice to Management

New HRM staff is needed to fully restaff the Dallas Hub.

I have been working at United Capital Financial Advisers full-time

    Pros

Working with clients is rewarding and United Capital has brought a more goal-oriented approach to the industry. There are wonderful people working in the regional offices around the country to take care of clients and genuinely have clients' best interests at heart.

    Cons

Compensation and benefits are poor, especially benefits. No career paths. Senior leadership does not grasp what caring for clients involves nor do they make an effort to understand. They talk the talk, but don't walk the walk when it comes to corporate culture. The vast majority of "corporate" staff talk down to those in field offices who bring in the revenue.

    Advice to Management

Benefits need a complete overhaul if the company wants to retain and attract top talent. Management should spend less time acting like they value the regional offices' contributions to the company and more time actually valuing those contributions and employees.

    Pros

Generally nice people among the rank and file.

    Cons

Senior management are bullies. They fill you with a false sense or caring but bully their employees to conform. Most people seem to enjoy working at the regional offices but the management of the regional offices DO NOT like working with corporate management.

    Pros

Has potential, but lots of work to do first....

    Cons

Very low 401(K) match - Relationship Managers are overworked and underpaid - Way too many steps and softwares involved in managing client's data, takes forever to prepare for one client meeting in one day, let alone multiple client meetings on same day - Many Managing Directors are arrogant and in heated competition with each other, seems to be in High School all over again - Reporting company they use, Envestnet, always messes up, same goes for HR department - Company very cheap, does not pay for anything, charges everything on employees, including corporate trips and computers - Investment options they provide to clients not always the best (R-Squared fiasco), biased pushing of inside funds with that are generally expensive and lack robust returns.

    Advice to Management

You have got to simplify the client management process, too many softwares involved that need to be synced together, it is a nightmare. RM's are way overworked and the salary and benefits are laughable, no wonder everyone keeps leaving. Stop expecting employees to attend seminars and meetings while telling them they have to pay for everything on their own.

    Pros

Trying to improve the process of financial planning

    Cons

Healthcare plans are unaffordable for the staff.

    Advice to Management

Get past the managing directors of the offices controlling you.

    Pros

It was a very hand on environment. You will be able to learn many different functions and learn a lot about financial services.

    Cons

No structure on how to be promoted. Very high employee turnover. Doesn't provide competitive compensation and/or benefits.

    Advice to Management

Management should compensate the employees better. Management needs to understand that an employee turnover rate as high as the one at the UCFA corporate office is very time consuming and inefficient.

    Pros

Great group of on staff experts to help you any way they can on technical areas such as insurance, planning and investments. You have the ability to develop meaningful relationships with client.

    Cons

Although they claim they are supportive of building a great employee culture, it is all talk. In my time with the firm, I saw great, talented staff be pigeon holed into positions they did not want . Poor management Little if any appreciate for a job well done. As a result, they let the best staff walk out the door. The prevailing philosophy was, " we can always get someone new and cheaper than you". Very much at odds with their public image. Maybe a place to start your career - learn what you can & move on..

    Advice to Management

Make sure your local managers support the culture that corporate wants to create. Make retaining great employees more important and provide them with career opportunities that support their personal as well as company goals. Don't be afraid to fire poor performers.
