    Positive Outlook

    Pros

They offer a great flexible schedule

    Cons

The opportunities to advance are limited to a few select persons. There is not much diversity in this bank, very few minorities.

    Advice to Management

The quarterly bonus could be higher. The bank makes millions from our hard work, and we get a taxed $300 bonus.

I have been working at United Community Banks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The job is very easy and the work environment is comfortable.

    Cons

Higher management does not actually care about the people that are "the face of the bank" & locations are constantly short-staffed.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what your employee's have to say. Hire help when it is needed. Reward employees on accomplishments.

    Pros

    I can't think of any.

    Cons

The user interface for its website is the worst in the industry. Impossible to navigate.
And today, the Billpay tab disappeared.

    Advice to Management

Find management who actually serves customers by having a user friendly website. Current management is deaf and blind.

I worked at United Community Banks full-time

    Pros

Focus on customer service is awesome! Management always quickly addressed any issue, regardless of if it was internal or external.

    Cons

Some of the older employees tend to be stuck in there ways and not open to change.

    Pros

U.C.B. is all about the customer and providing them the best service possible. The benefits were pretty good too.

    Cons

The employees were not given enough one-on-one training. U.C.B. often has a more "corporate" attitude towards banking rather than a "community" one.

    Advice to Management

Get back to the basics. Treat your employees like they are valuable assets just as you do your customers. Make sure your employees have the necessary tools available, which includes plenty of training, to do their jobs. It shouldn't have to take an hour for employees and customers to find the information they need.

    Pros

Palmetto had excellent senior leadership that that moved forward with United. I have faith they will address the following cons.

    Cons

Lack of top down communication or cross department communication - everybody doesn't seem on the same page about what's going on. Needs investment in technology from employee perspective (systems, application). Technology is acceptable from client standpoint (mobile banking, mobile deposit)

    Advice to Management

You've got great leaders from Palmetto. Use and empower them.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

The fellow employees are very friendly and considerate to each other, more like family. But it still remains a professional environment.

    Cons

Was part a a major layoff in the mortgage department. Instead of looking into how to resolve internal issues within the department they just removed all the hard working employees. They hired a "new chief" that initially reduced cost by laying off a group of employees, making his bottom line look good but not resolving the true issues. Its like putting an ax to a tree instead of getting to the root of the issue... Poor decisions made by powers that be

    Advice to Management

Live up to your promise to watch out for the real employees in the lower ranks...that are truly are the backbone of the company
