    Pros

Immediate manager that understand work is not my whole life An owner to the company that is approachable and understanding A great profit sharing retirement plan second to none

    Cons

The company needs to embrace technology. I believe it would increase our opportunities for new or additional business.

    Advice to Management

Employees need to be paid what they are worth

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at United Finance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy to get on management's good side as you long as you stick out with your work ethic. You really feel like they have your back. Super generous retirement program.

    Cons

Collections is a huge part of your job and I don't think that's explained thoroughly in the initial hiring process. There are many days where you are spending at least half your shift sifting through a list of and calling on clients. I understand that it is more productive and cost-efficient to do your own collections instead of sending it off to a third party but it makes each employee feel like they're just there to...

    Advice to Management

Change vacation/sick days to a PTO system. There are people with integrity that never get sick. They end up getting two weeks off for the whole year. Other people take advantage of the generous sick leave policy and end up getting over 4 weeks off. Allow reasonable technological additions to your branch. Even if it's a permission-required basis, plugging in a wireless mouse or headset isn't going to crash the system....

I worked at United Finance full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - It’s like a family - Smaller company with 3 generations of same family running it (which I really liked) - They care about their employees

    Cons

    - Collections wasn’t fun but part of job - background/interest in finance is a huge plus

    Pros

I worked at the Beaverton Branch. You will love your co-workers. They truly treat you like family here. Such a fun, happy place to be at. You get 1 hour lunches. Amazing 401K plan.

    Cons

I wish they had head sets for the phones and a more up to date computer system.

    Advice to Management

My manager was Rick. He is a really good listener and teacher. I would tell him give a crying customer a tissue next time they are sobbing in the office due to a repossession of their vehicle. But that's pretty much it.

I have been working at United Finance full-time

    Pros

I have never been a part of a company, nor imagined one, that reciprocates loyalty and dedication as much as United Finance. Every single person that is in this company (IT excluded) has started as a CSR, collector or manager trainee and worked their way up. If you put in the time and you care to learn, you will succeed. Further, unlike any other company I have worked for or can imagine, the owner and CEO, Rick Parker,...

This company is a great family owned and operated company. There are to many great things to list about this company, the best being they promote and pay based on performance.
