I have been working at United Hospital System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co workers are friendly and easy to work with, workload is not exhausting and hours are good. Fun place to work.

    Cons

Pay could be a little bit better for the workload that we do, at least be at what the average Mlt tech would make for the area.

I have been working at United Hospital System (More than a year)

    Pros

    Nice co-workers, and large units.

    Cons

I have been here for 2 years. As a nurse with 10 years of experience, I expected much more. The pay is very low. Tuition reimbursement for nurses is less than $2000 a year. Nurses are not encouraged to pursue or continue education. They will not be able to meet the new 2020 guidelines with only Diploma and ADN nurses. Managers are not supportive of their stuff, and do not ask for input. I know all health care systems have their down falls, but I worked for a much larger organization in the past and still regret leaving.

    Advice to Management

Focus on your stuff. Show that you care and value them. This is a tough job, and doing it for an organization that does not seem to value employees is an issue. Nepotism is very strong here, and it shows. Employees feel as if they are not related to a "higher up" that they do not matter. I have never once been asked my opinion or shown that my interests are valued in 2 years. This is shameful. Having the new Froedert name is merely a brand name change. Practice what you preach when it comes to the mission, vision, and values of this organization. I feel like everything that is done here is contradictory.

I have been working at United Hospital System full-time

    Pros

People can be fun to work with & food is good. They have great holiday meals & time off is pretty easy to do anytime which is nice.

    Cons

My manager is pretty stuck up. They act as if they're God of you & the hospital. I have been & other employees have been treated very poorly over the past year.
No opportunities for growth to expand my career. Management seems to put more time in helping certain people improve their career & salary while others get left to do the dirty work with not much of any opportunities to improve career & still get treated poorly.

    Advice to Management

    St. Catherine's Security manager:
My manager needs more training in how to manage his team he leads. Team & working as one needs to be there so employees can have a say in how things improve & operate in the future.
Manager also needs to not help people more that he likes than people he doesn't like. A manager should treat & help each employee's career improve each year. Otherwise why should we be doing goals every year if they don't improve our careers.
Follow the values & the scriptures on the walls & im pretty sure the environment for employment & employees will change around this manager.

I have been working at United Hospital System full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good job security, decent benefits, reasonably good pay for entry level work. UHS offers free meals to employees on several holidays and several other fun perks throughout the year. Employee Advisory Council gives an easy way for individual voices to be heard on safety concerns and etc.

    Cons

UHS doesn't do mass lay offs but will frequently decide not to fill open positions. This saves the company money, which is great, but contributes to high stress levels among employees.

    Advice to Management

Patient satisfaction is very important and something we are required to measure, but I believe figuring out how to make your employees less stressed would lead to higher patient satisfaction as well.
