I worked at United Nations (Less than a year)

    Pros

The most meaningful work. Everyday when i get up, I feel energetic as I am going to work for the peace of the world.

    Cons

I've learned a lot of new things. But most of them are too high-end, about the international affairs, for my near future.

    Advice to Management

    strong UN, better world

    Pros

Diversified culture and you could learn a lot and also interact with different people with a diversity of skillsets.

    Cons

Life-work balance, not that suitable for the young people who are eager to work a lot everyday. Also, no payment for interns.

I worked at United Nations as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

great exposure, very intercultural team, great environment, intelligent co-workers; was also lucky enough to volunteer for General Assembly and got to see a lot of head of states.

    Cons

the internship is unpaid and it was kind of challenging for students to cover the living expenses themselves, especially in NY

    Advice to Management

the internship can apparently be unpaid in a non-profit organization, but it would be great if the Org can cover at least a part of the travel expense or accommodation.

I worked at United Nations as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Truly unique experience, supervisors that mentor you while allowing you to see first hand what and how they do their jobs. Constant intellectual and motivational inspiration.

    Cons

A little chaotic, but it is the United Nations.
very political, difficult to see results because of this.

    Advice to Management

More training, if possible consider that interns need to learn and might not be able to get a clear picture of what is going on if supervisors are overly politically cautious. Aka less secrecy.
