I worked at United Protective Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you are by yourself on a post, then it will have been the easiest money you have ever earned. Absolutely no check ups from managers. Meeting new people that dont work for the company.

    Cons

Where would I begin. Literally anyone can become a security officer for this company. They will hire everything under the sun. No direct deposit, everything is hand written with these guys. The managers only care about having a body on post. They dont want to mess up there contracts you know.

    Advice to Management

The whole Frisco managment office should be wiped and hire some guys that actually follow the rules they try to enforce.

I worked at United Protective Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Gain experience and advance through the ranks quickly. Build a resume so you can go somewhere better.

    Cons

    - Low wages. - No raises. - You have to rent the uniform from the company indefinitely. They pay you, only to subtract a fee for the uniform, which you will clean and maintain. - While in training, you make minimum wage. - Inconsistent schedule. - Micro-management that is unwilling to fix any issues that are brought to their attention.

    Advice to Management

    - When people bring well reasoned issues to your attention, listen and give more than lip service to fixing the issues. - Get rid of the uniform fee. - Build yearly raises into the contracts.

I worked at United Protective Services full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are no pros I can think of.

    Cons

No direct deposit, management talks to you like you're beneath them, they lie to you etc

    Advice to Management

My advice is United Protective Services needs to start respecting their security officers and stop just hiring anybody. The office staff at the branch office is very unprofessional, and the receptionist is walking around in leggings and a sweater like she's at home instead of work. They don't offer direct deposit even though when you apply with them, it will say that they do offer it. When you are first hired... you have to go through a 8 hour unpaid orientation. Only perk is you get free lunch they provide, and you can't use your cell phone at all during orientation. They are watching you the entire time on camera so they will know if you are in your phone or not. Plus even if you already have a level 2 Security license, they will make you redo the test anyway. So if you're a level 2 or 3 then he prepared to take the exam over again, and they will grade it at the end of orientation and if you didn't pass then you can't go to work, but here's the kicker, it shouldn't matter if you don't pass because you're already certified. Either way the company needs better management that cares abiut the employees and not just how they can get the next contract or keeping a client happy. Also you can they will take 40 dollars out of every paycheck as long as you work there for a uniform fee. They rent uniforms to you so you never stop getting charged for it. 40 dollars plus all the other taxes that are taken out. So if you're looking to grow in your career then this is the place for you, but if you're looking to just make some quick money because you're a college student or recent high school graduate that needs a job then this is it but this place isn't for seasoned officers that's been in the industry a while. So if you decide to work here, get in, get out, and make a little money before the bs of the job starts.

    Pros

    It help pay my bills

    Cons

Bad management, No advancement, No raises, ect.

    Advice to Management

Pay your good officers! the ones that come to work everyday, never late, always on time. There the ones who keep this company going. The managers need to come out in the field more often & check in on the officers build a better relationship with the officers & clients.

    Pros

I saw no pros to this company at all

    Cons

I was lied to from the beginning, from office staff in Dallas and management in Fort Worth

    Advice to Management

If you tell someone something especially a potential employee, it's best to keep your word, if you'll lie to employees, you'll lie to the customer.
