I worked at United Research Laboratories (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good professional environment, quality based, care for employees, competitive pay, had good product pipeline and ARD department

    Cons

I cannot think of any cons except it is small to mid size company where everyone knows every one and into each other business so if you are mid my own business personality then you may need little adjustment

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good pace

    Pros

Great company! They care about employees and offer great salary, benefits and flexible working hours. If you do your job it is easy to be promoted.

    Cons

You don't get a lot of career mentoring. You have take the initiative on your own to learn, no one is going to hold your hand. Not a good place for new graduates.

I worked at United Research Laboratories full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Worked in an egalitarian environment where each individual opinion counted. They were open to suggestions to improve efficiencies and operations.

    Cons

The original company was acquired by a larger company. At that point we changed from a corporate headquarters to a business unit, and the egalitarian mentality ceased to exist.

    Advice to Management

Departments that work as a team where individuals feel that their input affects the end result, work more efficiently.

    Pros

Great walk through training for early level employees

    Cons

Very difficult to grow because higher level positions are clogged by incompetent people who will never hold their position at any other place of employment.

    Advice to Management

Look at yourself in the mirror

    Pros

decent salary and benefits package, great job stability for someone interested in a long tenure with the company, supportive of training

    Cons

Not enough room for career advancement, not located in a desirable campus setting with restaurants and shops for lunchtime activities

    Advice to Management

Invest in developing managers who treat people fairly and are not allowed to function incompetently while bring down the morale of the employees that are managed by them.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

It's in Philadelphia and not the suburbs so the commute from the city is reasonable.

    Cons

Low pay, most office spaces have no window at all, management can't put one foot in front of the other.

    Advice to Management

I recommend getting an operational HR department.

  10. "Operations"

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

It was a decent company before it was bought first by Takeda 2012 and finally by Sun Pharmaceuticals. Afterwards, job security became a concern.

    Cons

I think this facility will eventually close. Although Sun does not vocalize its intentions, it's actions speaks volumes. Many departments have been transferred to the Cranbury, NJ facility. Eventually, all departments will probably be transferred. Many people have been let go during the buy outs. Thus, resources are slim.

    Advice to Management

Let employees know what the company plans to do if you value us like you say you do.
