I worked at United Space Alliance full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It was very interesting work launching people into space for the Shuttle program. The pay, benefits and work atmosphere was excellent. I would do it all again with another program.

    Cons

When the program is over, you may lose your job. I lost my job with about 10,000 people.

    Advice to Management

Awesome job and it was nice working with you!

    Pros

This company offered opportunities for advancement, training in subjects outside normal job duties, teamwork challenges and goals and objectives for groups and individuals. Reviews were frequent and constructive.

    Cons

At times, the organizational charts seemed top-heavy, but not to the detriment of working individuals.

    Advice to Management

Not required, company has dissolved with the end of the Shuttle Program.

I worked at United Space Alliance (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This wasn't just a company, it was family. We worked hard together and played hard together. Yes there were some hair brained execs up top, but the people that made history, the managers, the techs, the hands-on workers ... they were the best.

    Cons

The company's usefulness is done now that the Shuttle program is complete. There is no way they can compete now that they have lost the talent of the workforce.
