I have been working at United States Bakery full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, pay, holidays "off". Teamsters benefits and retirement. you work at your own pace.

    Cons

Extreme physical requirements, upper management seems to try and make it harder to do the job by not providing the proper tools to do the job. Upper management doesn't listen to concerns of employees. Split days, no matter what. No requests, ever, for special days off.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees before making big moves that will effect them. Find a way to get them some family time (2 days occasionally). Totally get rid of the nepotism in ALL management levels! Practice what you preach for values.

    Pros

The pay was good with exceptional benefits. Hours can be long and exhausting, but that's the nature of the business. Management willing to promote from within.

    Cons

Long hours, work/life balance hard to adjust.

    Advice to Management

    Stay focused on employees.

  8. "praise the employees. It makes them feel good and wants to do better."

    Pros

I enjoy working with my customers at other stores. I enjoy being on my own and doing what needs to get done and being responsible for getting it done. I love compliments from store uppers saying what a good job I do and just what to do better.

    Cons

I do not get much compliments from managers. Days off are not really weekends and holidays.

    Advice to Management

Give praise to a job well done. I get my job done in 6 -7 hours where others are at 8-10 with the same route. Can I get a praise?

    Pros

I work for a WONDERFUL company that hires only the best employees and they pay me well to do a job that I love.

    Cons

We work very different hours and have split days off (Sunday and Wednesday) but once you get use to it it really is ok.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the little people, they can sometimes have the best advise.

    Pros

Communication with co workers is good.

    Cons

I feel that if you all pay the same amount of Union Dues that everyone should get the same benefits.

    Advice to Management

Work on giving all employees benefits, even the part timers.
