    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at United States Fish & Wildlife Service full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If possible, try to stick with the “Fish” and “Wildlife” part of your job. The Service has over-extended itself into far too many tangential endeavors.

    Cons

Hiring. Beware. USFWS has a tendency to hire the young and the beautiful. If you are neither, you basically have no chance of landing a job. It does not seem to matter that you have tons of education, experience and maturity. Also, and this is a really important heads-up; there is a powerful military like hierarchy in USFWS. They like to bark orders like you are in the Marines. Science based discussions and science informed decision making have become subordinate to politics.

    Doesn't Recommend

I have been working at United States Fish & Wildlife Service full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good Cause. If you like giving your life to the service of the civilians of the US and the wildlife they wish to enjoy for minimal compensation and no real retirement.this is a great job.

    Cons

Inability to do the best work for a good cause due to politics.
