    Pros

They have good wages and great benefits. There is room for advancement if your willing to relocate. Company is respected in the community.

    Cons

I work A LOT of overtime that is forced because of under staffing. They tell you one thing and then do another. Shift work is horrible for a family life but that doesn't matter to them.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with your employees. I feel like I am working and making good money but my talents are wasted because all you care about is your hidden agendas. We should all work as a team.

I worked at United States Steel full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity for developing your engineering and leadership skills for future opportunities outside the corporation. You have the ability to work with paid overtime that offsets your lack of free time outside of your career. You will have the opportunity to work with very talented engineers and at participate in many productivity projects and process improvements.

    Cons

No work life balance. Mandatory overtime. On-call daily for most production issues. There isn’t much career growth opportunities within your plant or across the corporation.

    Advice to Management

The Carnegie Way Transformation didn’t work. You need a transformational leader for the success of a transformation. Get back to the USS way of managing the business.
