I have been working at United Therapeutics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

United Therapeutics is a great company with a unique atmosphere. Everyone is welcoming and the job is exciting. Also the benefits are off the charts (in a good way)! Lastly, the nature of the work is altruistic. This makes me excited to show up to work every day.

    Cons

The job titles are a little weird.

I worked at United Therapeutics full-time

    Pros

Free food, nice building, but that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of a work culture.

    Cons

CIO has an ego problem; he likes his ideas best. Other departments have a problem with him as well. Also do not like the way he condescendingly talked down to women, especially young women.

    Advice to Management

Stop the micromanagement and saying it's "open doors" when it's clearly not the culture there.

I have been working at United Therapeutics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The cafeteria is excellent and inexpensive, and the 401k matching is absolutely unheard of (in a good way). On-site amenities such as gym and pool are nice. Great daycare program. Work-life balance is excellent. Salaries range from excellent to poor, depending on your position. The CEO is truly inspirational, and there is a top-to-bottom feeling of contributing to a worthy cause.

    Cons

Based on my experiences with hiring practices, where you start is where you're going to be for the foreseeable future. There is no development plan put into place, nor is it encouraged by management (and sometimes it is discouraged) to develop skills or take on challenges outside of your silo. Advancement is not due to merit within the company. It is an amazing place for a first job, as you are overpaid and have everything to learn. It is also a great place for someone late in their career; the salary is good and the workload will not necessarily be reflective of the higher salary. Those in the middle will stagnate - little room to grow, infrequent raises/title changes and lack of unified vision for career advancement will lead to turnover in the next few years.

    Advice to Management

Develop an advancement plan for all employees - encourage a growth mindset among employees and managers. Pay people fairly and provide incentive for good work. Improve hiring practices by eliminating nepotism and cronyism.

I have been working at United Therapeutics full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good Pay Benefits Coffee Bar Gym Tuition Reimbursement and most of the time we are united as One . I enjoy my position and have learned a lot over the years.

    Cons

Management is a joke and HR is even more of a joke people get hired because of who they are and not because of what they know we still have people in positions that don't have a clue and not trying to get a clue and the management keeps making excuses for them trying to plead a case for workers that don't deserve the position raises and bonuses are all the same no matter if you are lazy or a hard worker if you are a skater and just want to get by you will love it if you are a hard worker trying to grow and learn more advance your career you will not be inspired or happy to go to work you will find yourself just there to collect a paycheck especially when you see how others make it without even the knowledge of a pea. The Kentucky Mafia is still alive and well and causing havoc in the halls.

    Advice to Management

Everyone is not Management material get them out of the positions. Stop letting them allow people to skate. If they can't do their job stop rewriting and changing the description for them in order to justify the hire it's not fair to the people that do know their job and perform. Be fair and stop trying to treat everyone equal. Everyone is NOT EQUAL !!!!

    Pros

On site Gym. Pool. Able to come and go as you please

    Cons

New leadership plays favorites. Employee morale is at an all time low.Everyone waiting for the other shoe to drop as layoffs are not based on performance but who likes you. Forget about discussing anything with Human Resources as you will be deemed a threat. Unethical human resource practices.

    Advice to Management

Stop the cronyism at the top especially in RTP.
