United water/seuz
Feb 2, 2018 - Heavy Equipment Operator in Jersey City, NJRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great job stability, good opportunities to progress in the company, positive work environment and a over all concern for employies safety.
Cons
I do not have any cons towards the company. I was very greatful for my opertunity to work for united water/suez and left with good relations and positive feeling towards management, fellow workers and the company as a whole. The reason why I left the company was to help my sick and ageing father with his construction business. Do to his health he was unable to effectively run his business and I felt obligated as his son to help him until his health problems were resolved.

Decent Company to work for
Sep 15, 2015 - Anonymous in Newark, NJRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The Company provides plenty of room for growth, especially if one is willing to relocate. Leadership is keen to employees needs and provides a lot of room and opportunities for professional growth.
Cons
Having worked for smaller companies before, working for a company this big presents challenges with decision making. The corporate decision making hierarchy is way too long. It takes too long to get answers on important matters.

Best Job of My Career (Thus Far)
Aug 29, 2015 - Manager in Paramus, NJRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The Company's committed to the environment and delivering innovative, sustainable solutions to water and wastewater is not just lip service. Dedicated to the health and safety of it's employees in the field. Diverse mix of professionals at the corporate offices. Brand new, leed certified, headquarters in great location. Strong, business-savvy leadership. good benefits package.
Cons
As is the case in many companies with multiple segments, getting information on activities and colleagues in other segments is difficult.

Once a great place to work but no longer
Oct 26, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Harrington Park, Optional[NJ]RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Still provides plenty of holidays that had been negotiated many years ago.
Cons
This company was purchased in 2000 by a foreign multinational and has since been deteriorating. In recent years there have been many layoffs with many employees forced to re-apply for their current jobs. Everyone clearly recognizes what has been the pattern: layoff or force to resign the older, experienced and higher paid employees nearing retirement and replace them with low paid and temporary help. Employee morale is awful. With the severe level of layoffs and forced "resignations" the workload has shifted onto the shoulders of those remaining. Long hours of unpaid overtime including working on weekends and holidays has contributed to the very low morale in the NJ Headquarters. Perks which had been provided for many decades and made the company an enjoyable to place to work have been systematically rescinded.

Pros
They continue to bring in outside advisers that assist in improving the antiquated technology and processes. With the right mentality you can learn a lot from the outside advisers since they work for SUEZ all around the world.
Cons
There is alot of unfair treatment. While the company has a no retaliation policy in my opinion they do not follow it. When a manager retaliates, when you bring it to someone attention they will quote a generic hr phrase but no real action. If you are a minority or women you need to document everything. Some departments have over 100 people with No diversity within the management (zero black, hispanics etc..).

Good Management and Staff Up to date technology Free coffee, tea and water (yes, this is a perk as some companies don't offer this) Nice time off compensation
Cons
Some of the more tenured staff not as positive. Have to motivate some employees to stay focused and boost the mentality.
