I have been working at United World Mission full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

UWM has been amazing in helping my family and me serve where we feel called. We have had a very rewarding career while helping children-at-high-risk in Latin America.

    Cons

You must raise your own support.

I worked at United World Mission full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get to be part of a ministry that has been sending missionaries to Latin America for close to a hundred years. A lot of vacation/ comp days/ holidays.

    Cons

Very patriarchal (and I am not a feminist by any means). During orientation, it is expected that you work sometimes 18 hour days.

    Advice to Management

At this point, there is no advice to give. The recent president allowed the agency to be run into the ground and it has now merged with another agency.

I worked at United World Mission full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Wonderful and well trained member care. -There's a whole team dedicated just to that! Amazing.

    Cons

Short term contracts are not renewable after a certain number of years. You will have to make a long-term commitment from there. (Which is healthy though)

    Advice to Management

A little female perspective would take it to another level...
