I worked at UnitedLex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. A company that actually cares about employees.
    2. HODs and top management are amazing leaders. Always something you can pick up from them just by observation.
    3. Great facility and top end infrastructure. Very supportive shared services.
    4. A company growing consistently, they are someone to watch out for in the Lit Support market.
    5. If you know how to remain free from politics, work hard, do a decent job, and respect your colleagues, chances are that you will be recognized and slotted for growth

    Cons

Not great paymasters to most folks. I personally have no complaints, but people who have been in the organization for a long time have salaries below market levels. So, loyalty doesn't always pay here. All types of efforts are made to control attrition and keep people happy, except loosen the purse strings. The LS department churns fantastic revenue but profits are not shared with employees though employees really slog it.

    Advice to Management

Send more work to India and enjoy the margins. Then loosen the purse strings - it's about time. Take a hard look at some bad apples.

    Cons

I worked at UnitedLex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. A chilled out atmosphere unless you are working in Lit Support where I could see people slogging in a pressure cooker. Every employee was monitored in that deptt. The breaks including bathroom breaks are monitored. There used to be some unruly people then.

    2. Some of the

    Cons

    1. You get to work with Lawyers. It turns out most of them lack soft skills. Having worked with the High Court and Supreme Court, some of them still come to office with the same attitude and inflated ego.

    2. Mobile phones are not allowed. They have something called ISMS which restricts the use of mobile phone to prevent data theft!

    3. Most of the work is COPY-PASTE. There is no skill required. Only understanding of some english. In some processes even that is not required!

    4. Please review your service offerings. At times the client did not know how to use the service. Often, they did not even know about the service. A service was sold just to earn $$ but if the client is not using it then probably one day it'll be shut.

    Advice to Management

    1. Please be transparent when it comes to appraisals.
    2. Please give a decent enough hike to employees at the end of first year. I have seen people walking away with a 1-2% hike due to a tiff with the managers.
    3. Boot licking used to be rampant then.
    4. Hire quality employee. At least they should be able to write correct english.
    5. Train managers in handling the talent and maintain the quality.
    6. STOP BELL CURVE appraisal technique.
