I have been working at Universal Health Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Helpful management and lead staff. Decent pay as far as I'm concerned. Easy to earn pay raises. Super friendly staff that'll answer any question you may have. Easy to pick up shifts if 3 12's isn't enough for you.

    Cons

Very stressful environment. Sometimes you aren't given breaks (but will get compensated). Benefits are pretty bad and expensive.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

I worked at Universal Health Services part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great co-workers, loved working with the kids, overtime if I wanted it. I worked as a FLEX staff counselor at a boarding school for problem kids and it was the perfect arrangement. I could tell staff really cared and the kids were great!

    Cons

Oftentimes we were understaffed and could have used an extra couple counselors.

    Pros

UHS is dedicated to its Mission to provide the best care to all patients. The same commitment translates to treating dedicated employees well. UHS offers educational opportunities and encourages employees to take advantage of Tuition Assistance Programs

    Cons

None, if an employee wants to work, learn new concepts and dedicate oneself to exceeding expectations, opportunities are endless. Todays, younger work force is a little entitled so it is expected that one who has not earned their positon will likely be disappointed where ever the employee finds a position.

    Advice to Management

Expand to regions in the center of the country. There appears to be a great shortage of providers, especially in behavioral health. Thank you, you are doing a great job!

I have been working at Universal Health Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Helping others in need. Working on the residential unit allows us to really get to know the patients. Cheap meals for staff, and get to eat with patients.

    Cons

Company staffs depending on patient load. Which puts staff in danger at times, and the patients. The pt to staff ratio is 1 to 5, but I usually get as many as ten pt's before I get another staff member.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people's safety concerns.

    Pros

UHS is a place that rewards hard work and diligence. We are all in this for the long haul! UHS allows people with minimal experience to prove themselves and grow from there. I have been privileged to work with many good people and learn a lot of new things while being able to provide for my family. I was promoted 3 times and provided a lateral job move opportunity internally and I've been pleased to be able to contribute to the many projects completed and underway.

    Cons

Work from home options are on hold. Several good people have left because other places are more flexible in these policies.

    Advice to Management

Keep asking employees what they need to exceed in their job, listen, and implement those solutions.
