I worked at Universal Logistics Holdings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

flexible schedule and provided support as SME and the ability to help others.

    Cons

The company's lack of moral and ethical purpose for being; coupled with constant internal divide and inability to listen to each other or subject matter experts, to enhance and even create success.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people from the ground up and leave your offices occasionally so you will understand what is really happening in your company. You have a tremendous opportunity to be number 1 but only if you allow everyone in the company to include the owners to now what is really going on and provide honest feedback on how to resolve the issues.

I worked at Universal Logistics Holdings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Weekly Check
    -Decent pay
-Glassdoor says I need to put in more words to submit this, so here we are.

    Cons

    - Horrible benefits
    - Very few PTO days
    - Horrific Micromanagement
    - Obvious favoritism
    - No direct deposit
    - Little to no training

I worked for Universal for nearly two years. Management would ignore any concerns employees posed. Several times I ended up doing another departments job and when I asked for management to correct the situation I was told that it wouldn't matter either way. Many of my questions were met with "it's just how this place works". Universal has such a high turnover rate because employees who've been there 5+ years sit back with little to no work to do while the newer employees are thrown to the wolves with little - or in most cases, no training at all. Then stressed out to the point where they quit all together. I trained the majority of new employees in my department because no one else would- and I wasn't even a manager. If you like going home stressed day after day because other departments refuse to do anything for you while you drown in projects- this is the job for you.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees.

I worked at Universal Logistics Holdings full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You receive a paycheck weekly. It is a job that is great for starting out but not one that you want to stay at.

    Cons

Bad health insurance which is also owned by the same company. Large weekly deduction for a single person for healthcare. New management says the right things but has not delivered on it.

    Advice to Management

Remember the clerks that do the work. Not everything has to be turned into doom and gloom. Putting signs up and TV's in the break room does not make everyone feel welcomed. Adding a "appreciate our employees sign" without one actual employee in the picture is noticed.
