I worked at Universal Orlando Resort full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, tuition assistance was great. Most of my managers were decent to work for. Loved having free access to Halloween Horror Nights.

    Cons

Low pay, they can force extend you to stay longer than scheduled if need be, difficult to move up if you start in entry level park ops.

    Advice to Management

Be outside with your team as much as you can, if applicable. They respect the supervisors they see often the most.

I have been working at Universal Orlando Resort full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Free tickets to both Universal and Islands of Adventure as well as some other parks. Scheduled hours fluctuate. I work with amazing people. You get to meet guests that come from all around the world.

    Cons

Sometimes the work schedule is 6 days straight. Holidays can be difficult to take off because not everyone is able to get each holiday. Special events require longer shifts.

    Advice to Management

The communication level between the management staff and the team members is crucial to ensure all employees are happy which means that our guests are always taken care of.

I have been working at Universal Orlando Resort full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. Fun perks like tickets and discounts.

    Cons

Leadership allows middle managers to bully employees and get away with not doing work. Process changes constantly and managers don't listen to advice from employees.

    Advice to Management

Take surveys seriously. Ask employees doing the work what isn't working for them instead of making decisions that alter working conditions. And remove middle management who don't work well with other teams and bully their employees.
