I have been working at Universal Orlando Resort full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Get to know the ins and outs of the parks. Excellent jumping off point for getting into other departments. Decent starting pay.

    Cons

Points are easy to lose and hard to get back. Slow seasons really do a number on you unless you manage to secure a full time position.

I have been working at Universal Orlando Resort

    Pros

Work schedule good for students, most the time they only hire part time and seasonal for minimum wage jobs. Good company benefits, free admission, park ticket discount , employees restaurant discounts , and Universal merchandise discounts . They also got very good health insurance, but you can’t get it if you are seasonal. Friendly co-worker and managers, even though some of them think highly about themselves, most people are still nice . They care about employee’s opinions and more importantly they listen and change the work environment for their employees. Can pickup shifts online . Work place rotation, you get to work at different locations .

    Cons

Don’t apply if you looking for full time , full time here don’t even get schedule 40 hr, even part timers don’t get enough hours, sometime they only schedule one shift per week , you can pick up shifts from your co workers, but imagine doing this every week, because there are so many part timers everyone is looking for shifts. And if you work in the park or citywalk, you get off late, it all depends on the location and how many visitor they got. The latest could be 12 am, 1 am, or 3 am. Also if you don’t like where you at , it takes a long time to transfer , you gotta wait 6 month or more.

I worked at Universal Orlando Resort full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I loved working for Universal. The healthcare and full time benefits were great

    Cons

There are too many lapses on products. There should be emphasis on reorders and being more flexible on getting new products

    Pros

Pay The people are fun to work with Free park admission Merch discounts

    Cons

The hours during the slow season are hard when you are part time. If you only have one job here, you will probably need to go full time to have enough hours.

I have been working at Universal Orlando Resort full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    1) It is a fun job. Where else do you get to walk around in the parks and get paid for it? 2) Great hours. 3) Easy to get days off for vacation, appointments, etc. 4) Decent vacation time - and if you are full-time, the longer you stay with the company, the more vacation time you are awarded.

    Cons

    1) The pay for RNs is not even in the average range of pay for Orlando RNs. The pay is half what you would receive working in an acute care environment (e.g., hospital). 2) You tend to lose a lot of your clinical skills as a RN in this department.
