I have been working at Universal Protection Service full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Absolutely nothing good to say about them

    Cons

Check gets messed up all the time, took 2 months to get 20 hours of overtime owed to me. Promise we will get paid for mandatory meeting, still haven't been paid. Only management get vacation, sick time and company matching 401k. They just dropped our bonus from 40hrs if your pay to 190 for 40 hours. No communication at all. I haven't had 1 raise in 3 years.

    Advice to Management

Treatment of your employees needs to be priority.

    Pros

There are lots of diversity in the positions available, and they are growing at a such a rate that it offers great opportunity for growth and advancement.

    Cons

The demand can be overwhelming at times due to such great and rapid growth. Work/Life balance can be hard to maintain with the work demands so high.

I have been working at Universal Protection Service full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Allied Universal is a large company so work is always available, and they will hire ANYBODY. Since they experience a high employee turnover, there is plenty of overtime available if you want it. Not much else good to say.

    Cons

Extremely poor management. From the district, down to the individual accounts. Managers dont know how to manage thier people or inspire thier supervisors. The dont care about thier staff so they will use them up, then replace them. Nearly ZERO communication, and can never get in contact with anybody at the district office. Compensation is not very competitive and there is little room for progression. This is a security officer mill. District office is a disaster; its dirty, unorganized, and you can hear open coversations joking about other officers. (bad business guys!)

    Advice to Management

Your problems start at the TOP. Managers cannot avoid resolving conflicts by ignoring an issue, so take your phone calls and RETURN missed ones. Learn to take care of your staff and communicate with them. Then follow up with what you say your going to do! Do that, and your employees will work hard and you'll lower your attrition. Dont, and they will quit like they always do. Everybody knows, the #1 reason staff quits is due to poor management (thats you and your account managers and district staff). You should value your employees as much as you celebrate yourselves and your profits. Practice what you preach and execise that culture your company is supposed to display. Oh, and if you want to be a top company, hire quality employees. (this will also help with your turnover)

I worked at Universal Protection Service part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I must say if you like to work and like to work at different locations and if they are available, you can make some good money weekly. I worked at my location and sometimes at another location to make so easy money.

    Cons

The con is the money is not good if you don't put in the hours. I also feel there's a lot of favoritism about who can work at certain locations. I quit because of transportation issues and plus I was not happy working with this particular company. Bad management.

    Advice to Management

I say the management needs to be more respectful to their employees.
