    Pros

Team members were great people to work with.

    Cons

UPI has difficulty maintaining clients. Returns are what help build a foundation. Listening to PMs feedback who ARE the voice of the customer must be integrated into execution. This is NOT done.

    Advice to Management

PMs are you customer. PMs drive the clients needs. SR management should do everything to ensure the PM is treated as the client since it is the PM ensuring the clients are successful.

I worked at UniversalPegasus International (Less than a year)

    Pros

Quick way to gather experience. Free training - if you can get it.

    Cons

Expensive health care, no 401K match, reduced PTO benefits, forced "family" environment. The company is always about quality and ethics, Two things they don't have and definitely won't teach. Because of recent manipulations they now have untrained, unaware, and uncaring people in management. The shining stars are fading and mentors retiring. A Business Development Dept that for some reason still has a job but laying off actual contributing people.

    Advice to Management

A company isn't 4 walls and some desks. It's the people that make it happen. Treat them like YOU would like to be treated, and not some number on a page. See what they actually add to the company and not just a paycheck.

I worked at UniversalPegasus International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - The best medical benefits I've ever received before budget cuts and staff "reductions"
    - Diversity initiative until you're the only woman or minority in the room

    Cons

Management or the "higher-ups" lack the business acumen and imagination to seek out other industries to diversify their offerings creating a revolving door of third-party investors who come-in and change everything and cause lay-offs. No transparency between the staff and management; ridicules PTO accumulation; no performance review; managers too blind to see incompetent Project Managers...happy I'm gone.

    Advice to Management

No advice to management, but a warning to potential employees. The company is filled with people who scrutinize your every mistake just to have a lame reason to lay you off when things get tough. Watch your back and keep your resume out there.

I have been working at UniversalPegasus International full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I wish I had something positive to say about this place, but the fact is, I don't anymore. Its very sad what is happening here.

    Cons

I lost count of all the CEOs, VPs, and Directors that we've had. They throw titles around like its nothing, especially Directors, who are really just Project Managers, not even good ones. There is no advancement, unless you're friends with the right people, very clickish. No training opportunities. And now they're taking away benefits. They've laid off hundreds of people. They run off the good people and keep the crappy ones, makes no sense.

    Advice to Management

Quit your job and let someone take over that actually cares about the people here.

I worked at UniversalPegasus International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are very generous. Since the turn of the market, benefits like 401K and holiday time have been reduced. Pay is more than fair, and I am sure when the market turns around they will re-adjust the decreased benefits. Company is reorganizing the structure and I hope it is a positive change.

    Cons

Engineering teams are unorganized, and people are put in sink or swim situations with little support or help. Every man for himself kind of culture.

    Advice to Management

Take fault in situations and don't put all of the blame of the people under you. You are there to help them.

    Pros

relaxed dress code, kept on overhead in between projects. Relaxed atmosphere. Flexible hours.

    Cons

culture of contempt, disrespect and condescension. Worst I've seen in this business. If you don't like being addressed like an idiot then stay far away from this company.

    Advice to Management

Can't say much without disregarding my anonymity.

I worked at UniversalPegasus International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salaries, previous 401k was good.

    Cons

Broken bonus plan that isn't tied to performance. Rumors of extreme bonuses for senior staff, some over 100k. Two of the top HR people have jumped ship as well as the CFO in the past six months. The CFO jumped shipped after only a year and then wasn't allowed to stay on during the transition.

Culture was suppose to be the focus last year and the chief idea was placing pictures on every floor on every wall. They left the pictures up even after they fired and laid-off employees. Unreal? Yep. Just what you want to see every morning, pictures of people that got dumped by the company. Company survey was last year and the results were never released. People talk about it all the time.

They say keeping top talent is a focus but recent changes are they took away all cell phones and made you buy your own. Insurance costs jumped by a large amount and the 401k match amount was lowered. The formal bonus plan of the past was removed without any announcement.

    Advice to Management

Bring back an actual bonus and incentive plan. Figure out why so many people are leaving. This company should have been booming based on the location and industry it is in. When hard times do come in the industry this company will get leveled.

    Pros

Good work environment. Diverse projects. Open door policy. If you are fortunate to jump on some exciting projects you will get some good experience.

    Cons

Buddy system exists. If your on overhead for 30-60 days, keep a look out for layoffs because they are coming your way. Will drop 60%-70% of their workforce to stay afloat when business is slow and no new projects are coming in.

    No training programs.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of buddy system. Figure out a way to hire enough employees to get the work done without over hiring.

    Pros

Pay was decent, Updated Technology (computers, software etc.)

    Cons

Incompetent Management without credentials for positions in which they are placed. The Buddy system remains there as long as your friends with any management or supervisor then your job is safe. Structure isn't there, standards aren't present and if questioned scare tactic emails are sent letting employees know the job market isn't that great.

    Advice to Management

Higher Qualified individuals with a Degree, cut the Buddy system out and work on improving the structure within.

    Pros

Came into the company to gain more project management experience. The company gets engaged on projects because of their misconcepted strength.

    Cons

Too many 'Managers' with no responsibilities. Title is thrown around like baseball. Even a Secrertary is called 'Project Coordinator/Scheduler' etc. Vice Presidents' infighting is very dorminant in the company, with each competing for unhealthy relevance.

    Advice to Management

Steamline your organization. Too many duplicity in functions, amounting to waste. Let a manager be a manager and don't be hiding the bonus sharing formula. It hurts to find out a subordinate earns more than a supervisor. Very common at UniversalPegasus.
