I worked at University College Cork as a contractor

    Pros

UCC is a great place to work. The people are probably the best thing about it although the setting and scenery are amazing too.

    Cons

The downsides of working at UCC are similar to those of many other universities. There is a lot of administrative red tape and bureaucracy to get through when trying to get new ideas out there.

    Advice to Management

Try to take on board some of the ideas coming from the staff and implement them while there is still momentum.

I have been working at University College Cork as an intern (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I don't always have to be there. They call me. It's great to be there when I'm needed. I want to help. Sure it's only down the road anyway.

    Cons

I didn't really know what I was getting myself in for. However, I suppose it will be for the better. I hope.

    Advice to Management

They're all just kids anyway. Sure we'd have to be nice to them, even with the quirks. Some good some bad. That's they way!

I have been working at University College Cork part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, a chance to train, opportunities to progress and respectful enviroment

    Cons

On the bureaucratic side of things at times. But not that often. But considering it is an old traditional university it is less so than I would say other universities of its ilk are

    Advice to Management

    Increase permanent contracts
