I have been working at University Medical Center (Lubbock) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great training, awesome benefits (health insurance), aggressive treatment protocols

    Cons

Administrative staff at EMS were promoted by the good-old-boy system and are typically looking out for themselves and not the caregivers. Little to no promotion opportunity available, although that's common in this profession across the country).

    Advice to Management

Make your people happy and they will in turn take better care of your patients without prompting. Pay, while often not considered a reason employees leave a job, is not adequate at UMC EMS...again, take care of your people! When was the last time we got a cost of living pay raise?

    Pros

Most of the employees are fantastic to work with and and friendly.

    Cons

NSS management pushes a lot of new things without letting staff know. They're not flexible with work schedules like they claim to be and will give your shift away.
