I have been working at University of Alabama in Huntsville part-time

    Pros

Great professors who really help guide you through the research process of how to analyze data, and they are also very understanding of your schedule.

    Cons

Not really any way to scale up research projects - limited amount of grant money and the like. Sometimes professors are unclear in exactly what they want.

    Advice to Management

Try to collaborate more outside the academia applications of research and see if any of the findings are suitable for other industries.

I worked at University of Alabama in Huntsville full-time

    Pros

Great mid-sized location in reasonably priced town conveniently located in the Southeast. Students are generally friendly, and many that I taught want to perform well. Faculty are more friendly than other universities, and it's nice to be part of a big state university system that has other areas of expertise and resources. Good academic support for students considering student size.

    Cons

Student academic performance is generally bimodal with some excellent/very good students and some fairly weak students, which can make teaching a large classes challenging. Some departments are very political with individuals who make life difficult for those who don't conform to their individual expectations.
