I worked at University of Alberta (More than a year)

    Pros

Definitely is a good learning opportunity. Even though it depends on the course, you can learn from the course and interacting with the students.

    Cons

Completely depends on the prof who is teaching the course. Some of them don't respect your time. Also, in the department of Computing Science, there is not enough TAs and many TAs end up working more than the specified hours. The other bad thing is that you are supposed to work a specific amount of time during the semester, there is no limit on the time you work each week or each month. So you might end up working a lot during one single week.
