I worked at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

NONE! I can not think of 5 pros!

    Cons

Laid off without warning! Fired in a humiliating manner so called "workforce reduction" I would not trust them as an employer! They do not value loyalty or experience. If you are over 50 you are at risk!

    Advice to Management

Value your long term employees with seniority and consider that you may be hurting someone financially and emotionally with a shock and awe mass surprise workforce reducion! I was humiliated and treated like a criminal with no forewarning escorted out by the police, shut out of me email with no chance to forward info or emails I need, given 5 minutes warning to clean out my desk...after 28 years of faithful employment! They confiscated and stole 6 months of sick leave...does not pay to not call in sick there!

I have been working at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are pretty good. You get lots of vacation time even right as a new employee. Reasonably priced health, dental, and vision insurance.

    Cons

The administration is not good. They just did a bunch of layoffs to balance the budget and it was handled terribly. They do not value their workforce and are terribly disorganized.
