I worked at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences full-time

    Pros

Great benefits and state employee including state/federal holidays off.

    Cons

Little to no pay raises, management turns over constantly, employees fear of losing their jobs due to cut backs.

    Advice to Management

Read the Fish Philosophy book! Give raises and stop micro-managing your program coordinators. The turn over for administrators is high so the changes continually happening on that level prevent the educational programs from thriving and being innovative and competitive for the educational programs which we attract applicants world wide to come to UAMS for graduate medical education training.

I worked at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences full-time

    Pros

Wonderful benefits - lots of vacation and sick time, retirement is outstanding.

    Cons

Upper leadership meaning Chancellor is great. Upper and middle-upper leadership is not great at communicating downstream. Definitely did not trust management to be truthful. Salary is great if you learn to play the system... otherwise it's questionable.
