I have been working at University of Bologna full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The origins of the University of Bologna go way back, and it is considered to be the oldest university in the Western world. Its history is intertwined with that of the great names of science and literature, it is a keystone and a point of reference for European culture.

    Cons

Quite an old town Bologna is, where pretty much everything seems to be food-focused.

I worked at University of Bologna full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The number of scholarships and services within the Campus.
The possibility to widen research area with an interdisciplinary approach.
The quality of classes is also outstanding.
There is a huge and good working library system.
The teaching quality is very high, probably the best in Italy and definitively among the best in Europe.

    Cons

Low pay with no possibility to improve your career, despite achieving outstanding results. You are supposed to work for free for some period, in order to keep your post and wait for an opportunity to come. Not different from other universities in Italy.

    Advice to Management

To value more research under every point of view. To encourage international research and to be able to look and plan for the long-time opportunities.
