      No opinion of CEO

I have been working at University of Bristol full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Flexible hours, good work ethics, good career development opportunities, good support when applying for grants, good culture and interaction with other academics

      Cons

Complex system for career progression, not very good benefits, almost useless superannuation scheme, no support for childcare

      Advice to Management

Improve benefits package, for example, low cost nursery for employees with family.

I have been working at University of Bristol for more than 3 years

      Pros

As in any academic environment, work hours are flexible. I usually work from 5AM to 10AM, then go for a walk or bike ride over a long lunch, then work from about 12PM to 5PM. Also, I'm allowed to work remotely when I don't have meetings, which cuts down on commuting and allows me to get a lot more done. Great people, exciting projects, vibrant community. Couldn't ask for more.

      Cons

Only minor things: IT has an impossible job and tends to be a bit intrusive, often interfering with getting work done, but that's the same everywhere I've worked. Buildings are scattered throughout the city, so sometimes I must scramble to make it to different meetings.

      Advice to Management

      Keep up the excellent work!
