    Pros

    UCB Campus & Medical Benefits

    Cons

Antiquated HR/Payroll technology, Perception of HR Supervisors that UCB is 'above law', Culture of Intimidation and Fear and Ethical Managers transferring to other UC campuses.
Note: Ratings/comments for CSS HR only.

    Advice to Management

Conduct routine and confidential retention interviews of all CSS staff, instead of sporadic exit interviews.

I have been working at University of California Berkeley full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits package, the job itself is relatively easy, you can work at your own pace.Work hours are flexible.

    Cons

The pay does not seem to be distributed evenly. While the benefits are great, they are essentially useless if you don't actually need them. Not a lot of training offered to new employees. Too much bureaucracy. Doesn't seem like there is much room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Base pay should be higher (obviously).

Training: I can tell that they have started implementing a new system of onboarding and training but it is still lacking in that there is not significant follow up once the new hires have started. Managers don't seem to communicate with team leads about the progression of new hires. This is definitely something that can be improved upon.
