    Pros

    Government job, so the benefits and retirement plans are very nice. The hours are nice and flexible, which helps with commuting. Steady flow of work that keeps you busy. A decent amount of sick/vacation time available. The work life balance is pretty easy to maintain.

    Cons

    The work is almost all clerical. The job title should be changed to administrative assistant. Asked to wear a lot of hats without any sort of benefit for doing so. Very little interaction with direct supervisor and almost no interaction with management. Due to budget understaffing is an issue

    - Solid job stability, especially for career positions - Good benefit packages and pension plans after 5 years of service - Career Development classes offered - Sick leave and vacation leave - Opportunity to move/advance after a year of services

    - Experiences and job statisfaction vary based on department - Lots of bureaucratic red tape
