I have been working at University of Chicago full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Department has wonderful core facilities (NMR, mass spectrometry, etc). Faculty in the department are among top in the research world, most professors are young, ambitious and very productive. Overall research climate is very positive

Since there is no engineering department in UChicago, most of the common employers who are interested in chemists ignore the university, that makes it harder to find an industry position. Recruiting events are extremely rare and usually not very productive
