I worked at University of Cincinnati as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Working with someone who knows what they are doing leads to valuable research.

    Cons

It's not always that the students and professors are an ideal match, I did a lot of great work, but some of my peers ended up doing not so much.

Structure yourselves and your goals better. Don't get lost in procrastination.

    Pros

Really depends on your supervisor. If he/she has good funding then you're fine. Otherwise you might need to do Teaching Assistant work just to get more money from your college

    Cons

Pay is average, just enough to cover the living expenses

I have been working at University of Cincinnati part-time (Less than a year)

I worked at University of Cincinnati part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was flexible, with a great culture and great management. Professional development is there, and really what you make of it.

    Cons

Pay raises are very difficult to achieve, changes are often slow, high expectations of workloads. Almost no advancement without switching departments.

I have been working at University of Cincinnati full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, gorgeous campus. It's been a fun place to work and I've learned a lot, both in doing my "day job" and as an adjunct faculty.

    Cons

Too many silos, very hard to break that dynamic. Currently a lot of turnover in leadership and a large sense of uncertainty and change fatigue.
