I have been working at University of Essex full-time

    Pros

The University is full of motivated, professionals within the professional services section of the University. Benefits and Annual leave are all industry standard. The Univetsity takes equality and diversity exceptionally seriously and celbrates staff excellence in all areas regularly.

    Cons

Sometimes the luck of the draw with the department heads can have an impact on career progression. Internal promotions for non academic staff can be difficult.

    Advice to Management

Think outside the box for professional services promotions. Excellent direction and leadership with academics and student facing roles and responsibilities for those looking to progress internally.
