I have been working at University of Glasgow full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, comparable salary to similar roles at other universities. Opportunities to develop within a role. Excellent city to live in.

    Cons

Not much mentorship if you're on a temporary research only contract. Limited opportunity to be promoted within the University. Very dependent on the relationship you have with your direct line manager which is fine if you get on, less so if you don't.

    Advice to Management

Consider your temporary contract staff. We would stay if we encouraged more.

    Pros

A comfortable city with plenty of amenities. The university has a great history and atmosphere. The research done here has good potential and the fabrication labs are fantastic.
