    Pros

    Pros

good salary, benefits. they give employee with flexible working hours, typically less than expected. salary more than 40 per hour

    Cons

nothing can be complained, great environment, great protection for employees. There are some courses are time consuming, you have to make sure you have good time management skills. They need to be more multi-culture in management level.

    Advice to Management

give more communication with student workers. should hire more multi-culture background people. most of full-time employees there are Canadian.

I have been working at University of Guelph part-time

    Pros

Staff and co-workers are fantastic to work with.
The job is a lot of fun and rewarding
    Flexible hours

    Cons

Don't get paid a lot but most people don't do it for the money.

I worked at University of Guelph part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It's a medium-size university that provides excellent education in a more personal environment.
Directors/chairs and staff have been supportive and welcoming.
Students have intellectual freedom, curiosity and, most of them, a genuine desire to learn.

    Cons

NO TAs support for classes under 70 students.
Some courses aren't offered every year and obtaining a sessional appointment is increasingly difficult.
Bad Greyhound schedule and frequent lateness. If you commute, do line up as early as possible, as the "time stamped" ticket does NOT guarantee a seat on the bus.

I worked at University of Guelph full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good work life balance.
    Interesting and positive work environment.
Good benefits and pension. The best thing is to start with five weeks holidays.

    Cons

Sometimes it gets very difficult to work on financial issues with the professors because they think they know everything and nobody should tell them what they are supposed to do.

I worked at University of Guelph part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

While working at the University of Guelph I had flexible work hours. The staff were very supportive and the work environment was very positive.

    Cons

I was only able to work over the Summer. While working for the University one has to serve the needs of a great deal of students.

    Advice to Management

My managers were excellent and I do not have any specific advice to provide to them. Whenever I had a question about my work they were always very quick to assist me.

I worked at University of Guelph part-time

    Pros

Excellent pay, good benefits, and great colleagues. Great teaching experience. Ample time for class prep. Fun to interact and educate university students.

    Cons

Very few cons. Occasionally, I had to deal with a difficult student. Some complain when they receive poor grades. This is tempered by great advice and support from supervisor. Unfortunately, these jobs only exist if you are a graduate student. Once you graduate, you lose access to them.

    Advice to Management

The pedagogical training we received was quite good, but short. Longer training would have been helpful. Otherwise, I have only good things to say about my experience with management.

    Pros

A wonderful city and a lovely campus to be on. Good work life balance

    Cons

Doesn't have much for entertainment for a city of its size.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing
