I worked at University of Hawaii at Manoa part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Excellent working environment, accommodates for classes. ITC building is new, secure and clean. Work can be challenging but fulfilling. Student work continues during breaks can be increased to full time at those times. Overall, very satisfied.

    Cons

Hours start early (7:00) and paid parking, street parking is available but the walk can be long. Pay is low for students to keep operating costs down but 20 hrs a week will suffice to pay for part time tuition with proper budgeting.

I worked at University of Hawaii at Manoa full-time for more than a year

    Pros

4 weeks vacation. Fairly laid back atmosphere in general (for an academic research center)

    Cons

Very low pay. Laid back atmosphere can interfere with timely work. University bureaucracy is insane.

I have been working at University of Hawaii at Manoa part-time for less than a year

    Pros

My boss is probably the nicest person I've ever worked for. It's an easy job and helps build problem solving for networking and AV.

    Cons

Pay is low and there's too much downtime. It's also kind of unorganized, but not to the point where it interferes with what needs to be done.
