I have been working at University of Helsinki full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's an open, international, research-oriented university with very good reputation. People here are friendly and willing to help, most things are well organized. In general, professors are very patient.

    Cons

PhD position usually does not guarantee your funding (depends on your faculty and your research topic). Living cost in Helsinki is pretty high.

    Advice to Management

Focus too much on cost reduction, some supporting units (IT, administration) are not functioning well due to lack of personnel.
