    Pros

    the system to deposit salary and fill timesheets is excellent.

    Cons

    1. less job to student ratio 2. some jobs have less pay and more work while sometimes you get more money just to warm chairs.

    create more jobs

    The pros are that there is a very practical approach, lot of homework requires implemntation of different algorithms, usually you can choose which programming language to use

    Cons

    The cons are that thrre is too much work to do, you don't have lot of free time,because usually you have homework every week

    I've worked as admin. asst. for over 3 years & in a high volume call center.

    Cons

    I don't do very well with Excel. But I'm better with everything else computer wise.

    Advice to Management

    Keeping looking until you find what you're looking for.

    You get access to great researchers.

    Cons

    It takes a long time to get anything done (i.e., IRB, grant submission). UIC doesn't let postdocs serve as PI of projects.

    The advancement of job title and raise process is really slow
    It is mandatory to be in union if taking a civil service position

    Pros

    decent pay for the work. Free tuition waver if in phd program.

    Cons

    Have to deal with professors and do most of the grading for them. Still have to do research on the side.

    Advice to Management

    Fire gen chem professor for lab. She has no idea what she is doing. Hire a student to do her job and redo the entire lab and experiments. It is outdated and has too many mistakes.
