I worked at University of Louisiana at Lafayette (Less than a year)

    Pros

Helpful English faculty, open minded students (mostly), feeedom to make your own curriculum

    Cons

It's in south Louisiana so there are a lot of conservative values flying around that sometimes inhibit liberal arts education.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. I don't really have much advice here. The administration isn't the problem.

I worked at University of Louisiana at Lafayette full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It was a paycheck, a very small paycheck.

    Cons

They don't care about people. You are disposable. The attitude is, "If you don't like it, leave."

    Advice to Management

Until people come first, it will always be a factory, not a career.

I worked at University of Louisiana at Lafayette part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best resdon to work at UL is that they sdapt to your schedule. They also understand that you are a student so they only require 10 hours a week which is pretty good.

    Cons

They obly pay minimum wage for jobs such as academic coach. Sometimes the 10 hours can be too little and they always hire financial aid kids before anyone else.

    Advice to Management

They can help out woth students who do not want to be there. Some athletes do not like it and it becomes a waste of time so maybe juat remove them from the program.

I have been working at University of Louisiana at Lafayette part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I thoroughly enjoy working for the university, co-workers are cordial and helpful; and the campus is moderately sized so as not to be overwhelming but still impressive

    Cons

This is not the place to go if you want to make money, or a name for yourself. UL is primarily concerned with producing graduates, and not necessarily a major research hub, unless you're in biology.
