I worked at University of Manchester full-time

    Pros

With it being such an established university, and being in education so the year essentially just repeats itself it was a well organised, stable place to work

    Cons

Often they lacked innovation or willingness to try things a new way and just continued doing things the way they'd always done them!

    Doesn't Recommend

I have been working at University of Manchester full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

flexi hours pay is okay career progression training

    Cons

Most admin/clerical/porters/Security etc are from local Manchester and towns-have very racist backward northern working class attitudes ingrained in them-very common in northern cities and towns. -lots of inhouse bullying among staff and towards students too -Management turn a blind eye or provide untrained 'bullying advisors' to give 'advice' (lip service) -too much pro gay bias-ALL minorities need to be represented equally -lazy high level staff on high grades doing nothing and getting paid a cheque -lots of racism in nursing faculty-run by local Manchester yobs who left school at 16 and worked there way up through admin
