I have been working at University of Manchester for more than a year

    Pros

Many opportunities to make a name for yourself and gain contacts in your field. Flexible work and holidays. Good opportunities for extra work as a teaching assistant too

    Cons

Support can be lacking at times. I don't think PhD students are held in high esteem by most (not all) senior staff.

I have been working at University of Manchester full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Was an excellent place to study and develop skills during PhD due to very support and keen supervisor. Manchester, in general, has a lot of state of the art facilities.

    Cons

If anything goes wrong during the PhD there are very limited services available to support the students during that process.

I have been working at University of Manchester full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Qaulity of resources and the University itself is very good.

    Cons

Some academics can be really arrogant, dismissive and condescending toward students, who after all are students for a reason.
