I have been working at University of Manchester full-time

    Pros

There are no teaching duties, but postdocs are allowed to teach. The support staff is well prepared and very responsive.

    Cons

The HR are usually a bit slow at processing documents, and a bit disorganised. The central IT services are great, but when it comes to fixing some uncommon issues there may be very long waiting times (months) sometimes. The marketing department seems to be in charge of a lot things, most of which are far outside their area of expertise: this is evident in many places.
