    I have been working at University of Maryland full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Administrative people are friendly and competent. The academics (professors and students) are also great. Lots of amazing research being done.

    Cons

    Even if your contract is not long, you have to pick a pension scheme.

    Pros

    Convenience and building a relationship with professors. Extra income was a nice bonus as a college student, and doing something within one's field is always beneficial.

    Cons

    Finding time to work can be difficult depending on courseload. Sometimes projects can face hurdles and hours per week can be inconsistent.

    some jobs have a minimum number of hours that are hard for students, if youre a student you can only be promoted from "staff" to "supervisor"
