    Pros

    Benefits are okay, pay is standard academia pay (lower range), but it is very easy to transfer positions within the university system.

    Cons

    The main con is the salary -- but that is to be expected when working at a university.

    Rotating shift adds stress to both your body, and sleep cycle.

    Patient assignments are based on patient acuity

    Cons

    It is in the city so I can be dangerous getting to one's vehicle, particularly at night. They do have shuttles available for drop off to most parking garages.

    Pros

    -great pay for having no degree or certification
    -good benefits if you are full time, supplemental benefits we're a joke
    -overtime pay
    -coworkers were great and helped make the workday go by faster

    Cons

    -parking garage is expensive even for employees
    -favoritism and cattiness became an everyday
    -people rat each other out to try and get ahead
    -nurses look down on registrars
    -managers are rarely present
    -HIPPA is a joke; private info discussed in double bed rooms only separated by curtain
    -Managers openly speak negatively about coworkers in front of everyone
    -emergency room is very stressful environment(you have to deal with getting information for families even when the family member is deceased)
    -you never know what you're walking into that day
    -team leads only look out for themselves

    Advice to Management

    Management only focuses on negatives employee and is only worried about looking good for their higher ups. Stop trying to be best buddies with everyone and actually manage.
