I have been working at University of Maryland Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very good medical, dental, and retirement plans. Dependents can receive significantly reduced price tuition at University of Maryland schools as well as some other Maryland Colleges and Universities.

    Cons

It can be interesting getting into the city. Traffic and parking are extremely variable. Public transportation is available and I would recommend taking it. Some people seem worried about their safety but I've never had a problem or known anyone that has.

    Pros

Highly-regarded medical center. Ability to work with top clinicians. Providing healthcare to critically ill patients in a state of the art setting.

    Cons

Large disconnect between medical center administration and clinicians. Very little accountability for middle-management resulting in trickle-down professionalism and productivity issues.
