I worked at University of Massachusetts part-time

    Pros

Overall it was a really nice balance of work and school.
Learned how a place works "top-down".

    Cons

Sometimes people would ask for unreasonable things to happen on an unreasonable timeline.

    Advice to Management

Work with student concerns that are legitimate and ignore the ones that are just complaints.

I have been working at University of Massachusetts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, people are nice. A ton of medical plans go choose from. Vacation time and sick time are very generous.

    Cons

No real effort put into giving staff additional work related training to keep skills. No real maternity leave except for 2 weeks.

    Pros

The environment could be challenging and interesting or not. It also depends on the department you work at and the professor you work with.

    Cons

Could be really slow and petty at times.

    Advice to Management

    Do better
